Moving back to fruit, this time students will be using photographs and will be concentrating on fabric, lighting, mood and more detail. The finished piece will be stunning.

This is the time that we begin to introduce warm-blooded subjects. The first animals will be chickens. Janet has some incredible pictures to work from and students will find their paintings will show the personality of the chicken or maybe a bit of their personality in there. Discover the fun of feathers and reinforce your ability to create form.

Next delve into the art of people. Do a portrait and learn the basic dimensions of a face and discover the art of skin tones. If you have followed along with the course or have a strong painting background you will excel with this piece. It may seem intimidating, but painting a person isn’t that different than anything else. Use values to create the form and allow yourself to be challenged.

There is always time for some problem solving. Bring in any piece that you may be having trouble with. You may just like to have the discipline of a class setting or are looking for a way to meet other artists; regardless of your motives you are always welcome. If there is a subject that isn’t covered throughout the structured sessions you are welcome to continue in the classes for as long as you like and we can cover many different subjects.
