Unclaimed Pottery
Nov 4th, 2009 by jackie

The Centre for Creative Arts has recently had to move all of our items in storage at the old RCMP building to our current location and in doing so we have found a number of unclaimed pieces. Unfortunately, on some of the pieces we can not identify the signatures on the bottoms. If you think you have left some pieces at the Centre, please come by and claim it be November 13, 2009 at the old Library location on 99th Avenue. Any unclaimed pieces left here after that date will become the property of the Centre for Creative Arts.

Thanks

Hello and Welcome the Centre for Creative Arts’ new blog. We hope for this to become a fun place to come for news on our events and classes. We will also be posting how-to’s, artist and art organization profiles and interviews, along with some silliness just for fun. Please come back often, as we are planning to update at least once a week. Enjoy and send us any ideas or comments you have! Have a super day!

On Saturday we held our very first Chili Bowl-A-Rama and it was an outstanding success!!!  We want to thank all our sponsers and everyone who helped make the night as great as it was. First to the restuarants for providing the delicious chili: Tito’s Bistro and Cafe, Jake’s Down South, BJ’s Q Club and Sports Lounge and our Best Chili Winner, Last Chance Restuarant and Lounge. To the fabulous potters who made and donated over one hundred ceramic bowls, they were truly amazing. Thank you to Mitch Cedar for lining up our musical entertainment and to all the performers. Also thank you to our Silent Auction Donors, our exibiting artists, Natalie Green and Angie Patterson and our wonderful volunteers!

Look below for some images.

ChiliBowls

The handmade bowls were fantastic. Each was totally unique and beautiful. I am sure each bowl will be treasured and used again and again by our guests who picked which bowl they would eat from and then take home with them.
